Trevi Fountain

Where: Rome, Italy
When: February 5, 2012
With: Rachel and Loren

So two things about Trevi Fountain. One, it was made so that no road approaches it directly. So when you enter its piazza, it just kinda pops out in front of you. Two, it's HUGE. I was expecting some teeny little thing...no, its massive.

The fountain was completed in 1762 to commemorate the aqueducts that used to bring fresh water into the city. The focal point of the fountain is King Neptune. Another person on here is Triton (on the right); however he doesn't look much like the guy from The Little Mermaid.

The legend with the Trevi Fountain is that if you through a coin into the fountain over your shoulder, it will guarantee your return to Rome. We all touched the coin, and I made the throw. It was a bit tricky since the snow restricted access to the edge of the fountain, but I was successful. It's a good thing, we need to come back to see all the things that were closed.
