Where: Venice, Italy
When: February 10, 2012
With who: Loren and Rachel
Seriously, you know you're in an awesome city when you're forced to use a boat to get anywhere. Now, yes, it was absolutely frigid while we took this ride, but from what I'm hearing, Venice in the summertime is a rather smelly place. So I kept that fact in mind to brave the cold and admire the view.
We were just so blown away by how there are literally no roads. How do you get your furniture delivered? What if you need an ambulance? (We actually got this answer when we saw an ambulance gondola pull up in front of someone's door.)

So excited to be in Venice, but so very cold.
And of course, the first sighting of gondolas.
Apparently, the houses that are right on this main drag belonged to the height of Venetian society at one point in time.
Most unique taxi ride I've ever taken, and the best way to get a flavor of the city.
