Albergo del Senato

Where: Rome, Italy
When: February 4 - February 7
With: Rachel and Loren

I know this just may not sound feasible since I have a good portion of the Book memorized, but I didn't book this hotel on purpose. It just happened to be a well-rated hotel that was surprisingly affordable given our 3 adults per single bedroom setup. It was a nice surprise when I realised I could check something else off.

The location could not be better. It's in the Piazza Navona district, which is a nice combination of great restaurants, historic sites, and small winding streets. The hotel had a great bar, really friendly staff, free wi-fi, and breakfast included every morning.

The view from our front step was a jaw-dropping view of the Pantheon. I couldn't believe how close it was, stepping out of the cab upon arriving.

The entrance to our room. This was the first of three rooms, then there was a little hallway to the right that had a couch and some chairs and led to a bedroom and big lovely bathroom. The center hallway area was the site of our nightly bottle of wine.

We also had a little balcony - it was too cold to sit out there, but it was still lovely to poke our heads out each day and look out at Roman rooftops. Apparently there is also balcony on the top floor that you can sit on in the summer time.

The loopy 5 flights of marble stairs that we rarely took, but probably should have since the elevator barely fit the three of us in it and would visibly bounce and drop when we stepped in.

Finally, a view of the hotel (on the left) and the Pantheon on the right. Full moon didn't hurt either.
