While humming the Gladiator soundtrack in my head, we very excitedly approached the Colosseum. It's massive! I can't imagine how imposing this site must have been 2,000 years ago.
I happily was clicking away as we walked around the base trying to figure out how to get in.
Sadly, this was all a giant PSYCH as the inside of the Colosseum was closed to the public because of the snow. What a bummer. Apparently, the snow was causing bits of the walls to crumble.
Oh well, an excuse to come back. For now, I'll have to settle with a view of the inside from between the bars on the entrance and a man dressed as a gladiator taking cheesy pictures with tourists.

As we rounded the corner, we thought we'd finally found the way in.
Sadly, this was all a giant PSYCH as the inside of the Colosseum was closed to the public because of the snow. What a bummer. Apparently, the snow was causing bits of the walls to crumble.
