Signal Hill

Where: Cape Town, South Africa
When: December 2012
With: Dave, Divya, Nic, Palvi

Signal Hill is like the lesser known little brother of the three large mountains surrounding Cape Town. While it doesn't stand out as much as Table Mountain or Lion's Head, it's the easiest to summit by car, and therefore, makes it an ideal spot to camp out and watch the sunset. Which is exactly what we did on a couple occasions.

People watching is great here. The crowd drawn to watch the sunset here is completely varied. From college students and moms with babies, to tourists and Tibetan monks, it was a big hodgepodge of people, all gathered together to watch the sun go down.

Even with only 20 minutes to spare, it was enough to drive up to the top with a bottle of wine or a tub of food to drink, snack, and enjoy the view.

And what a view it was. I have to say that even the less dramatic sunsets are still amazing when they happen over the ocean. And every other sunset was in contention to be the most beautiful I've ever seen.

However, this one made for a possible best one I've ever seen in my life
