The London Eye

I am very excited to say that I have had my first house guest. And even more excited that the guest was none other than my travel buddy Rachel! Rachel's brother is going to school over here for a semester, and the whole family planned a trip out to visit him - which means Rachel stayed with me for a few days!

After picking her up at Paddington station (right by my flat, future house guests), we headed right off to meet up with her parents and little brother. Destination - the London Eye.

One interesting sight on the way from the Westminster tube station over the bridge to the Eye was how many men were trapping tourists with the 1 ball/3 cups, mix it around, and see if you can guess which cup the ball is under. We started counting and there were at least 7 or 8 of them. Additionally, they made it really difficult to walk across the bridge because of all the tourists huddled around each one blocking the walkways. Suckers.

Some sunset pictures of Big Ben and Parliament.

The view of the Thames as we were going up the Eye.

Afterward, we took a stroll down the Thames before heading to dinner. A nice first day in London.
