Where: London, England
When: July 3, 2003
With: FSU international program
As my time studying abroad in London came to a close, the amazing FSU international program had one last event planned to send us off. After 4 weeks of eating pub food and PB&J, we would be dining in style at one of London's more iconic restaurants, the OXO Tower Restaurant.
Located on the southern banks of the Thames, this restaurant sits in the OXO Tower, a tall, square column that is hard to miss with the massive "OXO" lit up in red on all four sides. From up here, diners are afforded some stunning views of the London skyline while they eat.
Posting on restaurants isn't my strong suit, and in the days before digital cameras, my visual commentary is severely lacking. So please take my word for it that the modern design mixed with epic views made for a very pleasurable dining experience. The food was excellent too: I believe this was the first time I tried portobello mushrooms and thought they were just as delicious as my steak.
Perhaps because we were going to the London Eye next, perhaps because I was low on film, but these are the only photos I took in here. The entire study program was in attendance, but on the last night, as is usual with these things, you want to spend time with the people you will miss the most. In this case, for me, it was my flatmates. There were six of us sharing the tiny two bedroom flat, and somehow, we came out of it not wanting to murder each other (although the boys were appalled about how much toilet paper the girls went through).
Either way, it was a delicious meal and probably one of the most entertaining views in all of London. And it was certainly an epic send-off from my first time in London.

My roommates, Kelsey and Paulette.
And the rest of the flatmates, Chris, Evan and Brendan.
So this is best example I have of the views in the background.
Either way, it was a delicious meal and probably one of the most entertaining views in all of London. And it was certainly an epic send-off from my first time in London.
